Orthopaedic Ward 1 is found on the third floor of the yellow block.

What is Orthopaedic Ward 1?

Orthopaedic Ward 1 is a 24 bedded mixed ward that deals with acute orthopaedic conditions. Patients are admitted to this ward from the Emergency Department.

Who will look after me?

A team of nurses managed by Ms. Mary Grace Mifsud, Nursing Officer, who is assisted by her deputy Mr. Brian Chircop will care for the patient whilst in the ward.
Patients admitted to this ward may be under the care of the following consultants: Mr J.Borg, Mr T. Azzopardi, Mr J.Zammit, Mr. M. Abela, Mr. R. Gatt, Mr I. Esposito.

Meal times

Patients have the opportunity of ordering their lunch and dinner from an established menu. A staff member will go around the patients in the morning so the order is taken. The food that will be ordered will be for the next day.

Breakfast: 7.30am to 8am
Lunch: 11.30am to 12.30pm
Dinner: 5.30pm to 6.30pm

Visiting times

Official visiting times are:
Monday to Sunday (including public holidays):
11:30 to 13:00 (2 visitors at any one time)
15:00 to 20:00 (2 visitors at any one time)

To speak to the nurses on the ward, one may call on 2545 5230– nursing staff will not give detailed medical information over the phone to protect patients’ right to confidentiality.
