The Ministry for Health is collaborating with the Human Rights Directorate within the Ministry for Justice, Equality and Governance in implementing the project TRANSFORM: Raising Standards of Health Care Service Provision for LGBTIQ People that is co-funded by the Rights, Equality and Citizenship programme (2014-2020).

The project aims to enhance the capacity of a range of health practitioners to address the health needs of LGBTIQ patients in a sensitive manner, and that acknowledges the specific challenges often encountered which result in having an impact on their health and wellbeing.

This website is being launched to equip health practitioners with the information they need to provide trans inclusive health care to their patients.

The website is modelled on the Belgian website of the Gent University Hospital Trans Info-Point with the same theme. The website content has been adapted in collaboration with the local project partners from the Gender Wellbeing Clinic and the Malta College of Family Doctors. Additionally, our international partner organisations, Gent University Hospital, ILGA Europe and Transgender Europe have endorsed this initiative and have been great collaborators in this process.

We hope that this website serves as an important resource in ensuring that trans people can enjoy equal and non-discriminatory access to health care services.
