Where is Disneyland?
Disneyland is located at the blue block on the first floor.

What is Disneyland?
Disneyland is an 18 bedded children’s ward that deals with acute paediatric medical conditions from ages 0 to 16 years. Children are admitted to this ward mainly from the Accident & Emergency Department; however there are occasions where children are directly admitted to this ward.

Who will look after me?
A team of nurses managed by Ms. Carmen Mangion Charge Nurse, who is assisted by, Ms. Rosemary Ann Vella who is also a Charge Nurse, will look after the child whilst in the ward. 

The paediatric Consultants who may look after children in this ward include: Dr. Paul Soler, Prof. Simon Attard Montaldo, Dr. Raymond Parascandolo, Dr. Cecil Vella, , Dr. Doriette Soler, Dr. Victor Grech, Dr. Victor Calvagna, Dr. John Torpiano, Dr Valerie Said Conti, Dr David Pace, Dr Patrick Sammut and Dr Nathalie Galea. All children are seen every day by their respective consultant firms, or the on call doctors on Sundays and Public Holidays. 

On admission to this ward an explanation is given to the parents regarding the facilities that are available both for the children and the parents.


Meal times
Parents and/ or children have the opportunity of ordering lunch and dinner from an established menu for the children. A staff member will go around the parents and/or children in the morning so the order is taken. The food that will be ordered will be for the next day. Besides the standard patient menus, this ward also has children menus.

Breakfast: 7.30am to 8am
Lunch: 11.30am to 12.30pm
Dinner: 5.30pm to 6.30pm

Visiting Times
Monday to Sunday (including public holidays):
20:00 - 08:00 (One parent/guardian can stay with the child)
08:00 - 20:00 (Both parents/guardians can stay with the child)
16:00 - 17:30 (2 visitors, excluding parents/guardians, at any one time)
 
Special permits for visiting outside the established visiting hours may be given to relatives at the discretion of the Charge Nurse.

Contacting the ward
To speak to the nurses on the ward, one may call on 2545 4920. Nursing staff will not give detailed medical information over the phone to protect patients’
