Nursing Now Campaign

In 2018, the World Health Organization and the International Council of Nurses launched the ‘Nursing Now’ campaign.  This is a three-year global campaign (2018-2020) that aims to improve health by raising the profile and status of nursing and midwifery worldwide. The ‘Nursing Now’ campaign will run until 2020 – the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth.  Thus, many countries, including Malta, are campaigning for nurses/midwives with the aim of improving perceptions of nurses/midwives, enhancing their influence and maximizing their contributions to ensure that everyone everywhere has access to healthcare. The office of the Nursing Services Directorate is taking an active part in this campaign and planned a multi-facet approach throughout 2020 in collaboration with different stakeholders.
