Registration Process

To be able to practice in Malta, nurses and midwives have to be registered with the  Nurses and Midwifery Council (Malta). Furthermore, Midwives need to be in possession of a warrant. Newly qualified nurses and midwives are urged to apply for registration as soon as results are issued at the University following the procedure explained below.

Registration Process for Nurses and Midwives from Non EU countries​ The Nurses and Midwifery Council may offer assistance to Non-EU Nurses whose certificate is not deemed to be in terms of Chapter 464 ​of the Laws of Malta and the EU Directive 2005/36 and the Council Directive 2006/100. This includes participation in theoretical and practical hours to help applicants reach the required standards.
