What We Do

Founded in 1990, the Foundation for Medical Services is a public entity holding a project-management and technical services remit that extends across the public healthcare landscape in Malta.

The Foundation’s service portfolio includes:

      • ​end-to-end project management;
    • design & architecture;
    • engineering services including mechanical, electrical and bio-medical;
    • consultancy;
    • estate and facilities oversight, and;
    • HR recruitment services.

The Foundation’s expertise makes it the Ministry for Health’s main reference point in healthcare infrastructure and HR services, and to this end it delivers projects that meet and exceed the Ministry’s requirements.

The EuHPN is a network of European governmental and research organisations responsible for the strategic asset planning and management of all form of health property, from hospitals to health centres. The network was established in 2000 in the Netherlands as a non-profit trust for the purpose of promoting excellence in health property provision and management.

 
EuHPN member organisations share information about health buildings through an annual workshop, regular seminars and personal networking.

 

The FMS is a member of the EuHPN.

Equality Mark

The Equality Mark certification has been awarded to the Foundation for Medical Services on the 12th September, 2011 by the National Commission for the Promotion of Equality (NCPE), through the European Social Fund (ESF) programme. This was awarded to the FMS in recognition of the entity’s commitment to protect employees from direct or indirect discrimination on the grounds of gender, age, race, religion, sexual orientation and/or family responsibilities and to promote equality of opportunity and employment.

The FMS believes that equality at the place of work is not only a sign of good management but that it also makes good business sense. Beyond ethical and legal reasons, the Foundation holds that the implementation of diversity and equality strategy policy is beneficial to business growth, complements strategies of employee recruitment and retention of high quality workers, provides access to a new labour pool, improves the corporate image and reputation and provides for a mind set of creativity and innovation.
