The Scoliosis Review Clinic provides a follow-up service for
children and adolescents diagnosed as having mild scoliosis.
The twice weekly Scoliosis Review Clinic is held at Tarxien
Community Clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the afternoon and is run by the
Primary Child Health General Practitioners. Referrals to this clinic are made
by doctors and nurses from the School Health Services following scoliosis screening in
schools, as well as by doctors from Health Centres or private practice.
Children are followed up until they reach the age of 18, as
deemed appropriate. Referral to an Orthopaedic Surgeon is carried out if the
degree of scoliosis worsens during the time of follow-up.
