Practice Development Unit

The Practice Development Unit within the Department of Primary Health, Malta saw its birth in 2001 with the aim of providing educational opportunities for primary healthcare professionals to update their knowledge and skills. A transition came about in the Practice Development Unit’s raison d’etre due to an evolving change, from one of providing updates in knowledge and skills to a broader one that included the need to change the prevalent philosophy of care within the Primary Health Department to a community needs focused approach to care.
